Synthesis and Characterization of Neurotoxins from Marine Organisms

Screen Shot 2016-03-10 at 11.27.13 AMEach venomous marine snail of the family Conoidea can produce between 50-novel peptides to characterize, A daunting task. To facilitate the characterization of novel snail peptides the lab is developing a microarray chip in collaboration with Peter Seeberger of the Max Planck Institute. Preliminary results indicate a microarray will allow for rapid, highthrough-put analyses of disulfide-rich peptides. This work will produce the first prototype of a snail peptide microarray.
